How long does it take?
The average website takes about 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on how much time you can devote to working closely with me. The content for the website generally comes from the client. If you have an existing website that we can mine content from, the process will take less time. If there is a committee, or a lengthy approval process, that naturally increases the time requirement. I am happy to come and present to your committee or board if you are within a reasonable distance of Waco, Texas, my home base.
Can I Update My Own Website?
If you would like to update your own website, you'll need a "Content Management System" (CMS). I use a powerful program called WordPress to do this. It can be customized to your needs, and editing your site is easy. All you do is login to your website, choose which page you want to edit, and start typing away. You can create new pages, delete old pages, and even create password-protected areas. The only caveat is that the choice of a web host is very important in this case in order to get the full benefit of this powerful software.
An example of a customized WordPress site I created for a customer is Acts Christian Fellowship church website. They have 5 or 6 church members who work on the site, including putting up their worship sequence in a password-protected area, uploading their sermons each week, and generally keeping the site up to date. Their College Ministry section even has a different look than the rest of the site. This forward-looking church understands that the first place a potential new member will look for a new church is on the web.
Of course, if you don't have time to update your own site, I can create a straight HTML site and do the maintenance for you at a reasonable hourly rate.

A website is a complex thing, and the cost depends on what you want and need. If you give me some idea of what you are looking for, I will write a proposal with my recommendations and a price quote. I go beyond mere web design and use my business training to help you have the most effective presence on the web. One that will bring you what you are looking for, whether that is customers, new members, new business, or new markets. I am experienced at working with businesses, non-profits, and state and local governments.
